Table 3.4   TCP/IP Options
Option Description
Server Assigned IP Address (Default) Choose this if you get a different IP address every time you log on to the remote computer.
Specify an IP Address Use a specific IP address for this connection; enter it under IP Address.
Server Assigned Name Server Addresses (Default) Let the remote computer indicate the addresses of the computers that maintain a database of host computer names and IP addresses.
Specify Name Server Addresses Use specific computers for the name servers; enter their IP addresses in the areas provided for Primary and Secondary DNS and WINS.
Use IP Header Compression (Default) Optimize data transfer by adding compression; not all remote computers support this option. (affects PPP only)
Use Default Gateway on Remote Network (Default) Instruct the connectoid to connect to the DUN server before trying to connect to any gateways listed in the TCP/IP Properties from the Network dialog box in the Control Panel.
